About the strand:

Mysterious as a desert mesa under a full moon - The Moonlit Mesa Strand is a dynamic blend of deep indigo, sterling silver, and natural blue turquoise stone. This handcrafted piece features clusters of genuine graduated lapis disc beads, their natural shape and color echoing the rugged beauty of the landscape they come from. Scattered throughout the strand are a few 8-9mm round Kingman turquoise beads - a pop of iconic southwestern blue sourced straight from the Kingman Turquoise Mine in Arizona. Each cluster of lapis beads and each Kingman round is perfectly framed with a gradual progression of sterling silver round beads, from 4mm to 8mm, while 6.7mm corrugated saucer beads add an extra layer of dimension to the strand. This strand is balanced, bold and teeming with refined elegance.

About the stone:

Lapis, also known as lapis lazuli, is a striking metamorphic rock composed of many minerals and prized for its rich, royal blue color - a hue that comes from its primary mineral, lazurite. Often flecked with golden pyrite and streaked with hints of calcite or sodalite, each stone carries its own unique landscape. Lapis has been valued for centuries as a symbol of wisdom and protection. Some of the finest specimens come from the rugged mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Lapis is associated with wisdom, truth, and enlightenment. It encourages self-reflection and the pursuit of knowledge.

Kingman turquoise is a staple of Native American/Western/Southwestern jewelry. Known for its striking range of color, from pale green to deep blue, Kingman turquoise is one of the most recognizable and sought-after American turquoises in the world. Its unique matrix patterns can be white, brown, black, or even dyed for contrast. While most natural Kingman turquoise is a rich medium blue, its variety and quality make it a standout among collectors. Turquoise is a sacred and highly valued stone in Native American cultures, symbolizing healing, protection, and a deep connection to nature, particularly the sky and water. It represents good fortune, strength, and spiritual communication. This stone is integral to ceremonies, rituals, and everyday life, where Native American tribes use it for healing, safeguarding, and even rituals intended to bring about rain.
